Upcoming Mission Trip - Guatemala

The Barnabas Group Kansas City will participate in a missions trip to Guatemala hosted by the James Project of Latin America. This ministry, which presented to our group in 2023, provides rescue and rehabilitation services to children who are victims of Human Trafficking. You can learn more about them at: James Project

The dates for the trip are Jan 4-11, 2025. Cost for food and lodging is approx. $800. Airfare and incidentals are additional. We need a minimum of 8 people to attend and can accommodate a maximum of 24. Our local host will be Tiffany Applegate, who is the leader of this ministry. We can facilitate travel arrangements for the group via a local travel agent.

The trip will include ministry work as well as some sightseeing activities.

Areas where ministry assistance is needed and can be utilized during the trip include:

  • Marketing

  • Photography

  • Video

  • Social Media Support

  • Doing activities with the children on site

  • Team Building Training for local staff

  • Leadership training

  • Biblical teaching on marriage

  • Skilled construction labor

  • Worship leading

Ministry activities will be done primarily at the James Project facility . There will also be opportunities to go to the public market to procure food and distribute to those in need.

The recording of the presentation by Tiffany Applegate gave to the Barnabas Group KC in our September Quarterly meeting can be found here. A previous presentation of hers can also be viewed here.

At this point, we are looking to compile a list of those who are potentially interested in going. A follow-up Zoom call will be scheduled to provide more detail and answer questions.
